Exercise is one of those things that you either love or hate. We know we need to do it but for some of us, it is more like a struggle than a fun activity. When we do become interested in exercise to lose weight, it is all too common to become addicted to cardio. The assumption usually goes that the more cardio you do, the faster you will lose weight. This isn’t necessarily the case. Yes, cardio can help with weight loss, but too much of it can also cause damage to muscles.

People who tend to do too much cardio often lose muscle mass. Have you ever noticed the body of a runner? They are typically very thin but don’t have much muscle mass. If that is the type of physique you are after that is fine, but you will also need to run often. Another cardio addiction are the use of cardio equipment such as treadmills or elliptical machines. Strength Training – This is probably one of the best ways to lose weight. Lifting weights builds muscle. Muscle burns calories, even when your body is at rest. Weight lifting also causes our bodies to burn more fat. Strength training is different from bodybuilding in that a person is not trying to build bulk but rather build more muscle and become stronger.

Interval Training – This type of exercise incorporates cardio along with rest periods to burn fat more efficiently. This means saving the muscle mass you have while burning tons of calories. You can interval train using free weights or by walking and sprinting. You can perform intervals on cardio equipment such as treadmills and ellipticals. You can also combine weights with bodyweight routines.

Either form of exercise can be done for as little as 30 – 45 minutes a day if you are short on time. That means less time working out and you’ll still receive the benefits.

36 year old man says derogatory things and insults fat people?

And he also says stuff like “You can f*ck fat girls in their belly buttons.”

He writes this kind of thing on internet blogs. I think it’s disgusting – especially for a 36 year old. What do you think?
