Now that Christmas dinner is over and all the leftovers are just about finished exactly how much time will it take to exercise off all of that delicious food? Take a look and see how many calories versus how much time it takes in the gym to cancel out those calories.

We gathered together for Christmas Eve dinner or maybe at noon on Christmas Day and shared some delicious meals. Then later that night we went back just to sample a bit more. A week later we started the entire process over again and between New Years Eve and New Years Day we had more than enough calories to go around our waist several times over. For all the sampling, tasting and devouring of our favorite foods we still had to have just a bit more until the last tasty morsel was consumed. So now what do we do? After all that eating it is now time to hit the gym.

  • Eggnog 8 oz.= 406 cal. Exercise time: 30 minutes
  • Green Bean Casserole 8 oz= 167 cal. Workout time: 12 minutes

  • Gravy 4 oz.= 149 cal. Gym Time: 11 minutes
  • Sweet Potatoes 8oz=161 cal. Exercise time: 12 minutes
  • Turkey 3 oz.= 142 cal. Workout time:11 minutes
  • Cranberry Sauce 8oz.= 418 cal. Activity time: 31 minutes
  • Rolls 1 roll=78 cal. Gym time:6 minutes
  • Pecan Pie 1/8 slice of a 9-inch pie= 456 cal. Workout time: 34 minutes
  • Apple Pie 1/8 slice of a 9-inch pie=356 cal. Exercise time: 27 minutes
  • Pumpkin Pie 1/8 slice of a 9 inch pie=323 cal. Gym Time 24 minutes

With the above as a guide, one can now tell how much time they should be scheduling at the gym. Go ahead, get the 2010 planner out and schedule in those daily workouts. With dedication those calories will be burned off just in time for the Easter buffet.
