Myth #3: Liposuction Is a Quick and Easy Way to Get Rid of Cellulite

Some people do find that their thighs look smoother after having liposuction. But some find they still have the same dimples and puckers after they have had the procedure. In fact, some patients have found their problem was even worse after liposuction.

Myth #4: If Your Mother Had It, You’ll have It

One of the biggest myths is that cellulite is genetic. If your mother, or other female family members, had it, you will have it, and there’s really nothing you can do about it.

It’s true that some people are genetically predisposed to having this problem. But even a genetic predisposition doesn’t mean you will, without question, end up with this problem, especially if you exercise regularly and have a healthy diet. And anyone can take steps to get rid of the “cottage cheese.”

There are a lot of myths out there about treating cellulite. But if you can learn to spot the myths, and ignore them, you can start focusing on the treatments that really work.
