Are You Proud Of Being Fat?

While most Americans claim to be trying to lose weight, some are trying to put on blubber. A lot of it. Those who are obsessed with gaining weight are known as “gainers” – and they’re ready to come out of the closet and be accepted for who they are, ABC News reports.

ABC tells the tale of “Git,” a 22-year-old man from Kentucky who weighs 245 pounds – and is aiming to weigh even more.

“Lately I’ve been infatuated with the physics of my belly,” he writes on his blog, Gitbigger. “I’m starting to notice how it moves with me, how it gets in the way, and it makes me daydream about how it will feel when I’m bigger.”

While it’s a shame to see people intentionally hurting their bodies, perhaps we should accept “gainers” for being the oddballs they are.

I don’t think we should accept gainers anymore than we accept people that are pro anorexia. An eating disorder is an eating disorder, striving to be an unhealthy weight works both ways.

And I’m not fat so no. That person is a mental case.
