Weight Gain Resistance Training Program

weight gain resistance training program

Weight loss and exercise tips?

Any help would be really appreciated guys. . .

I’m 25, female, over the past year I’ve had a lot of weight gain partially due to lifestyle factors, partly due to poly-cystic ovarian syndrome.

I joined the gym three months ago, exercise around 3 times a week (10 min cross trainer warm up, 5 min rowing machine, 25 mins cross trainer again and then some resistance training) but nothing. I haven’t lost anything, my clothes are tighter and I’ve put on about 1/2 stone.

In the past week or so I’ve gone for a low GI diet but can anyone else think of anything else I can do to help get the weight off? Maybe change my exercise programme? Do more weights? Any ideas?

Thank you :)

You should definitely work out and mix in strength and cardio, but also your diet plays a huge role in your weight loss.
Here’s a tidbit from Women’s Health magazine:

As research makes clear, trimming calories from your diet is the most direct route to a smaller dress size. “It’s much easier to cut 500 calories than to spend an hour in the gym burning 500 calories every day,” says Timothy Church, M.D., Ph.D., director of preventive medicine research at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center at Louisiana State University. However, both diet and exercise are essential for keeping that weight off.

Also, though, they are a great resource for workout programs. You can find a whole list here:

I would recommend following their Belly Off plan, its easy to do, free, and you can print out all the exercises:

Hope this helps!
