Is it possible to lose fat in your belly?

I’m skinny except in one area- my belly. Is it possible to reduce the fat there? All the nutritional books I’ve ever read say that there is no such thing as spot reducing. I have been doing 100 crunches since August, combined with daily exercising (cardio and weight training). My weight has dropped by 30 lbs, but I still have it in my stomach! I’d like to believe doing things such as sit-ups and crunches help, but the results and books don’t show it.

Indeed, everything I’ve seen says you can’t spot reduce. I’ve read somewhere that the belly is often the last thing to go, though, and it seems like in your case there’s not much place else to lose it.

My recommendation, then: drop the crunches (except as part of weight training) and add more to the other stuff you’re doing daily.
