What are the best exercises to do to burn belly fat?

I made the mistake of hiring an idiot personal trainer over the summer. I saw him for 3 months and I was too ignorant about exercise to know that he had me on a muscle building plan instead of the weight loss plan I requested. I’m 5’2 and weigh 167 pounds. When I started seeing him I was 150 pounds. I counted calories (not over 2000 a day) but the trainer told me I should eat about 3000 a day, mostly protein. Obviously I don’t believe any of what he said now that I gained all this extra weight that I should have been losing.

Can someone please advise me as to what the best exercises are to burn butt and belly fat? Thanks!
I’m not too worried about gaining weight back because I’ve always been under weight (103 pounds all through high school). I *believe* I’ve gained most of this weight due to anxiety and depression in college.
