i am 13 and i weigh 118 how do i lose extra belly fat?

i now i wiegh little but i don’t know how to lose extra belly fat i do sit ups and drink water all the time i havent drunk pop for 3 months i think this is good but i gain wieght instead of lose it

I know exactly what you are going through… about last year I was 14 and weighed about 120. Extra belly fat is VERY hard to shed for good. What I can suggest that worked for me is to eat right and exercise. Eat about four meals a day. Eat breakfast. Do not skip it. It actually makes you hungrier and makes you eat more at lunch. Then eat a lunch, a snack after lunch, and then dinner. Eat just enough that your hunger is curbed but do not overstuff yourself. Remind yourself that there will always be another meal, probably in just a few hours.

Eat healthy. And by healthy I mean well. You don’t have to eat fruit for every single meal or all organic, just eat well. Don’t have Cheezits for dinner, have pasta with marinara sauce or a grilled chicken salad instead! It takes a while, but you will notice results in a week to two weeks.

Cardio. Go for a short run every other day. I played DDR for Playstation 2 every day after school for half an hour before I sat down at the table to do my homework. If you don’t have enough time to do half an hour or more of cardio, do 100-200 sit-ups. It’s boring and sometimes painful, but it really does work to build muscles in your stomach, and more muscles use up more fat.

Good luck, and don’t expect results overnight. It takes a little bit of time, though. Try to think of it as getting fit and healthy, not getting ‘skinny’. And weight fluctuates a bit. Bloating before periods or eating an hour or two before weighing yourself makes you weigh 3 to even 5 pounds heavier than your actual weight.
